Approximately 4+ years ago companies made the transition from on-premise software to the cloud. Companies were sold that there were many benefits to Cloud software.
On-Premise VS Cloud Software
Before we dive in lets looks at the differences:
Cloud-based software: is hosted on the vendor’s servers and can be accessed anywhere from a browser.
On-premise software: is installed locally on company own server and generally has to be access remotely if the employee is off-site.
Software cloud migration issues
A lot of the vendor’s at the same time also moved their on-premise software to the cloud. But, with that, came a few complications. Dated looking software, slow loading sites, security issues, are just to name a few. The old vendor’s had some catching up to do compared to the new players in the market.
Gaps in Cloud Software
What we’ve found recently is that two, three years into a cloud implementation and companies are starting to find gaps in these systems. Issues such as privacy, data, security and feature requests/control are no longer in your hands, you can no longer control the version of the software you’re on, you lose a bit of freedom and customisation becomes extremely expensive, if not impossible.
Another problem we’re seeing in the SaaS market is oversaturated. According to Chiefmartec in 2018 there were over 6,000 SaaS products on the market. Two things happen; SaaS companies hyper-focus, and there is way too much choice for consumers.
How can we solve these cloud software issues with Digital Transformation?
One of the major benefits with these Cloud based software is they expose the data via an API. What does this mean?
Well, rather than having to find a new product once you’ve out grown your existing SaaS product you can just enhance it via our Digital Transformation Software.
Our strategy is to first identify the actual business problem, consolidate the data from your existing tech stack, and design a tech solution around identified problems. All while still keeping your SaaS product in-tact.
Who knows, you might even be able to save a couple of monthly user payments on the way!
Some solutions we can solve:
- Resource Management or Job Scheduling
- Custom Dashboard Reporting
- Middleware software to simply pass data between two systems
- Bridge the Gap with B2B eCommerce system
